Administrative Assistant
MS in Clinical Psychology, AFAA Group Fitness Certified

I grew up in a farm town in Ohio but moved to Chicago for graduate school in 2004 to earn my MS in Clinical Psychology. The change was a bit of a culture shock at first but I have grown accustomed to the change. I worked in Real Estate for several years after college and eventually moved into academia. I am joining Principal Performance directly from leaving my position at Northwestern University where I was the Assistant Director of Biological Sciences. I am thrilled to now be joining Principle Performance and working exclusively in the world of health and fitness.

I have over 10 years of experience in upper administrative positions. I was the Director of a Real Estate firm in Chicago and an Assistant Director at Northwestern University. On a personal level, I have been an athlete my whole life starting off as a swimmer, which transitioned into triathlons and now I train at a Crossfit gym. I have also had two c-sections, a double mastectomy and several fitness injuries so I understand how much these things can disrupt your life and how much hard work goes into recovery.

One of my main daily goals is to focus on things outside of myself as much as possible. Keep my eyes on God and what he wants for my life. Keep my eyes open for what those around me are going through and finding ways to bless them. Another one is trying to stay positive through difficult situations and looking for lessons in these experiences rather than focusing on the unfairness in this world.

From my personal experiences with sports injuries and surgery recoveries I have found that many doctors are focused on identifying and treating issues, but they have very little concern about a patient’s quality of life post-treatment. I do not believe someone should have to adjust their quality-of-life following cancer or injury/surgery recovery. Rather, services should be promoted and provided to these individuals until they are again able to live a full life doing all the things that bring them joy.

I manage the scheduling and payments for patients at Principle Performance. I enjoy working with and building individual relationships with the patients.

I love spending time with my family- My husband, Matt, daughter, Adeline (9), son, Elliott (5), dog, Leela, and cat, Tucker. I also enjoy teaching group fitness classes, lifting weights, and doing Crossfit.
