Faster, More Complete Healing For Your Goals
The main benefit of sports rehab is the level of personalization and sport-specific detail. Dr. Michael Jeremy Gontarek and the Principle Performance team tailor the program not just to your injury but also your fitness level, position, and the biomechanical needs of your sport. The goal isn’t just to get you back playing ASAP. It’s to help you recover to your peak potential so you come back stronger, faster, and more powerful than before your injury. Our patients are typically ready to return to competitive play 20-30% quicker thanks to these key advantages:

Target The True Cause, Not Just The Symptoms
Instead of a one-size-fits-all recovery template, your customized program addresses factors that contributed to the injury like strength imbalances, poor mechanics, overuse, and more. This precision rehab resolves the root issue so you heal correctly.

Prevent Re-Injury Through Corrective Exercises
Getting back to competition quickly is great, but experienced athletes know a poorly healed injury can easily happen again. Your program will incorporate corrective exercises to resolve dysfunction, improve movement patterns, and build protective strength to keep you thriving on the field.

Enhance Performance With Sport-Specific Training
The final phase of the program focuses on power development, speed, agility, and other athletic components tailored to the sport at hand. So not only will you recover, but you can come back feeling like a better all-around athlete.

Sports Rehab FAQs

What Exactly Is Sports Medicine Rehab?
Sports rehab is specifically tailored to injuries affecting athletic performance. Treatments are designed around your sport’s specific demands to help you return safely and as quickly as possible. The focus is on complete recovery – not just symptom relief but restoring full mobility, and strength, and preventing future reinjury.

How Is This Different From Regular Treatment?
While generic treatment concentrates on pain relief and basic strength/mobility, sports therapy maximizes these while also focusing on power, agility, endurance, and other athletic markers relevant to your sport. The end goal is full capability so you can perform at your personal peak.

What Does Sports Injury Treatment Consist Of?
Your treatment plan will likely feature a combination of hands-on manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, sports-specific drills, injury education, home corrective plans, and mental strategies for confidence. The variety of techniques and areas addressed lead to quicker, more comprehensive recovery so you can get back out there at 100%.

Finally a physician that’s getting it “right” for sports rehab and nutrition coaching. As a former Division I collegiate athlete, CrossFit coach, 200hr RYT, and current olympic lifter, I’ve worked with Mike to rehab and recover from two severe injuries (C5-C6 disc buldge osteophyte compex and lumbar spine disc injury) and to learn proper nutrition to support my train ing and safely maintian weight for my competitive weight class. During my rehab, Mike not only treated the injury and perscribed exercises, he supported me in finding a way to train and exercise to actually improve my health and fitness in other areas while I was safely treating my injuries.

I’ve been working with Michael for about a year and a half for several different sports-related injuries. With each one, I’ve appreciated his thoroughness both in diagnosing the issue and devising a treatment plan. Before seeing Michael, I had been treated by multiple other chiropractors and physical therapists, but I was unsatisfied with their approach. Michael offers 30- or 60-minute appointments and spends the entire time with the patient working through various rehab methods and exercises, whereas most other chiropractors and PTs only schedule 15–30-minute appointments and just instruct patients to do exercises on their own. Michael’s approach allows him to evaluate each rehab method/exercise and adapt based on the specific needs of each patient.
